NJAFA SPAYS 34 FERAL CATS

Another successful "SPAY DAY" for NJ Aid for Animals when we spayed and/or neutered THIRTY FOUR FERAL CATS from eight different colonies on June 30.

Thanks to our wonderful "team" of vets, Dr. Honey and Dr. Helen, and all our special volunteers... it was a wonderful (BUT LONG AND TIRING DAY)

All 34 cats got tested for FIV/FELV (ALL NEGATIVE!) , rabies and distemper shots, spayed or neutered, a dose of revolution, nails clipped and flea combed and ear checks for mites (and treated if needed).

NJAFA met a kind woman who was trying to gather enough money to spay her mother cat that had had kittens so we did it for her as well AND FOUND HOMES for the four kittens she surrendered to us!

What a wonderful feeling it was to know that all the feral cats had loving caregivers and were not going to be reproducing!

Won't you consider giving a donation to NJAFA to help us to plan more "SPAY AND NEUTER DAYS" for people who are trying to help their yard cats but don't have the funding?

ROCKY RACOON HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Rocky has found his forever home in Cherry Hill with a loving family with someone at home all the time!!!  (watch for picture with his new family)!

Rocky was a surrendered dog from Camden City.  We are pretty sure he had a flea problem as he smelled of motor oil when we picked him up (a common "remedy in Puerto Rico for ridding an animal of fleas).

Between the mom working from home and a retired parent, five kids!!! and a wonderful father there is ALWAYS someone at the house to play with Rocky.  No other dogs and/or cats but who needs other critters when you have this many humans?

SPIKE

SPIKE GETS LOVELY HOME IN CHERRY HILL

We were so lucky to have one of our little babies adopted at Cutter's Mill adoption day last Sunday!  Little Spike (now named Toby) is living in the lap of luxury with a delightful retired couple who are home all day and live in a beautiful home!!!

Little "Toby" will also be going to one of our favorite "docs'....Dr. Honey Rothberg at Marlton Animal Hospital where we know he will get the best of care!!!

Little Toby was surrendered at a very old man's house in Camden City along with three other kittens who still need homes.  The older gentleman is overwhelmed with cats in his yard and is trying to help them all.   NJAFA is helping the old man to trap and transporting all the cats to be altered.

6/08 - ADOPTED! Gypsy, a sweet loving torti  4 weeks

Nigel, loving orange male tabby 5 weeks

5 Dogs in Camdenhttp://uncutvideo.aol.com/videos/bd73acdf5af192510a0cf0a0a49f7dd5

When the Big Rig was here at the invitation of NJ Aid for Animals on March l5 this family showed up to have their five dogs receive vaccinations.
We convinced this family to get their males and females who were all living together spayed and neutered.  We were delighted when they agreed and Kathy McGuire arranged for their big day.  She drove to their house in Camden to make sure everyone was up and at em on the spay/neuter day.
The whole family went along to keep the dogs comfortable as Kathy led the way.
What a great day it is when one family with this many animals agrees to do what is best for them and we know that no more puppies will be born at this address!!!

ADOPTED 3/3/08 - Daisy our Darling little rottie surrendered from Camden has found her forever home with one of Coco's puppies owner!!! NJAFA is thrilled that one of our past success stories from a year ago has taken another one of our rescued dogs. We are so lucky to have found this individual to take not only Kona, (Coco's puppy) but now Daisy too.  Look at little Daisy as she gets her first meal with all the big dogs. Daisy has gone from hell living in a crate in a basement 24/7 all by herself to heaven on earth.  Her new mommy cooks ground turkey, rice and green beans for all of them twice a day.  No store bought dog food for this group!!!
Daisy was surrendered from Camden. She was living in a crate 24/7. Now she is running and playing with other dogs and living the good life and ONLY going in her crate for naptime and beddie bye! She is about eight weeks old and spayed. She will only go to an experienced rottie owner with a fenced yard. She is very loving.

Pet PhotoADOPTED 3/3/08 - "Marmaduke" Literally driven from a no kill shelter in Northern New Jersey to Kathy McGuire's driveway where her car was waiting warmed up and ready to move this BIG BEAUTIFUL BABY to the loving arms of folks at Puppys and More in Marlton.
Poor Marmaduke was being stoned by some kids in a school yard and frightened and terrorized. Our friend at Animal Control in Trenton took the poor baby and called NJ Aid for Animals to see if we had any "room". Of course we never have but reach out to those friends around us who can help us to take in these poor souls.
You can adopt Marmaduke by contacting puppies and more in Marlton, NJ
